About Dedalus Telepath
Dedalus Telepath is a long-established laboratory information management system used by NHS pathology services. It records patient and request information, manages specimens and laboratory work, receives analyser results, supports validation and authorisation, and sends completed reports to clinical and order-communications systems. Different local builds cover disciplines such as blood sciences, microbiology and transfusion, with interfaces and historical archives reflecting decades of service development. Telepath remains operational at a number of trusts, although many pathology networks are consolidating or migrating to newer LIMS platforms. It is therefore best understood as a mature, locally configured system rather than Dedalus's current cloud-native laboratory product. Its essential role is preserving traceable diagnostic workflow from request and specimen through to an authorised result.
