About Dedalus Patient Centre
Dedalus Patient Centre is an established NHS patient administration system that manages demographics, encounters and the movement of patients through hospital services. In emergency and urgent care it can create the attendance, identify the patient, record arrival and location changes, and pass encounter information to connected clinical, diagnostic and reporting systems. This administrative foundation prevents the emergency episode from becoming detached from the wider hospital pathway. Patient Centre is not, by itself, equivalent to a complete modern emergency clinical system: triage, tracking boards, observations, orders and clinician documentation may be delivered through connected EPR or departmental applications. The precise division of responsibility in any deployment depends on the organisation's local interfaces and configuration.
