About Dedalus APEX
Dedalus APEX, also known in NHS settings as iLaboratory APEX, is a laboratory information management system used to coordinate pathology testing. It records requests and patient details, tracks specimens through laboratory stages, supports result entry and authorisation, and distributes validated reports to connected clinical systems. Deployments can interface with analysers, order-communications platforms and other diagnostic applications, helping reduce manual transcription and preserve an auditable history of laboratory activity. APEX has been used across multiple NHS pathology services and may support different disciplines according to the local build. It is an established product within the Dedalus diagnostic portfolio; organisations modernising their pathology networks may retain it, consolidate instances or migrate to newer platforms according to local contracts and transformation plans.
