Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust provides general acute care for around 426,500 people in west Northamptonshire. Its main hospital near Northampton town centre has approximately 790 beds and a 24-hour emergency department, while Danetre Hospital in Daventry provides selected outpatient and day-surgery services.

The Trust offers inpatient, day-case and outpatient medicine and surgery, maternity, children's care, critical care, diagnostics and emergency treatment. Hyper-acute stroke, vascular and renal services cover the whole county, while its accredited cancer centre receives patients from Northamptonshire and parts of Buckinghamshire. Northampton General works with Kettering General through University Hospitals of Northamptonshire, sharing leadership, academic opportunities and selected clinical services while retaining its own statutory identity and hospital operations.
