United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust provides acute hospital care across one of England's largest and most rural geographical areas, serving around 768,000 people. Its principal hospitals are Lincoln County Hospital, Pilgrim Hospital in Boston, Grantham and District Hospital and County Hospital Louth, supported by community diagnostic and outpatient locations.
More than 8,500 staff deliver emergency, medical, surgical, maternity, paediatric, diagnostic and planned care. The trust's teaching status reflects its expanding role in educating doctors, nurses and other health professionals and developing research with academic partners. Since 2024 it has formed the Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group with Lincolnshire Community Health Services, sharing a board and executive team while remaining legally separate to improve coordination between hospital and community care.
