Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides acute hospital services from Bedford Hospital and Luton and Dunstable University Hospital. Formed in April 2020 when the two organisations came together, it serves communities across Bedfordshire and parts of Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire.
Both hospital sites retain core services including emergency care, inpatient and outpatient treatment, surgery, diagnostics, maternity and paediatrics. Working as one trust allows clinical teams to share expertise and strengthen specialist services across the two hospitals, including neonatal intensive care, vascular surgery, stroke care, ear, nose and throat services, and oral and maxillofacial surgery. The trust is also investing in its estates and digital systems to support more joined-up, patient-centred care.
