Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides acute and specialist services from Aintree University Hospital, the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Broadgreen Hospital and Liverpool University Dental Hospital. It is a statutory member of NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group, which coordinates these services with Liverpool's specialist heart, chest and women's hospitals.
Aintree is the regional adult major trauma centre and a focus for emergency and stroke care. The Royal delivers emergency medicine and complex specialties including renal transplantation, haematology, cancer, infectious diseases and ophthalmology through St Paul's Eye Unit. Broadgreen concentrates on planned surgery, diagnostics and specialist rehabilitation, while the Dental Hospital combines patient care with teaching. Together the sites serve local communities and regional referral populations.
