Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, now publicly known as Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, provides hospital and community care for more than half a million people each year. Its three hospitals are Pinderfields in Wakefield, Dewsbury and District, and Pontefract, supported by teams working in homes and community settings.
Pinderfields is the largest acute site, with emergency, maternity, children's, inpatient and specialist services. Dewsbury provides emergency and planned care and has an expanding surgical hub, while Pontefract focuses on urgent treatment, planned surgery, diagnostics and rehabilitation. Pinderfields also houses the Yorkshire Regional Burns Service and a regional spinal injuries centre, serving populations far beyond Mid Yorkshire. Teaching partnerships support clinical placements, research and professional education.
