About InterSystems IRIS

InterSystems IRIS for Health is a healthcare data and application platform combining a transactional database, interoperability engine, analytics and development tools. It can connect systems that use different protocols and message formats, route and transform information, and provide FHIR services for modern applications. Built-in support covers healthcare standards alongside REST, SOAP, files and other enterprise connections, while developers can extend flows with code and business rules. Organisations use IRIS for Health as both an integration layer and the foundation for data-rich clinical products. It is broader than a traditional message broker, but does not supply ready-made local interfaces: source mappings, workflows, security, monitoring and deployment architecture require implementation and governance.
