Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides local hospital and community services for Sheffield alongside specialist care for South Yorkshire and patients from across the UK. Its principal sites are the Northern General Hospital, Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Charles Clifford Dental Hospital, Weston Park Cancer Centre and Jessop Wing maternity hospital.
With around 18,500 staff, it is one of the country's largest and busiest teaching trusts. Services range from emergency, medical, surgical and community care to specialist cancer, neurosciences, dental, maternity and transplantation work. The trust combines patient care with major programmes of clinical research, innovation and professional education, working closely with the University of Sheffield and wider regional partners to translate new knowledge into improved treatment and population health.
