Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is the main acute and specialist hospital provider for west Berkshire. Around 7,500 staff work across seven sites, led by the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, with additional facilities including Bracknell Healthspace, Townlands Memorial Hospital and West Berkshire Community Hospital.
The Royal Berkshire Hospital provides emergency, inpatient, maternity, children's, critical care, diagnostic and surgical services. Specialist cancer, dialysis and eye surgery teams serve a wider population across Berkshire and neighbouring counties, with the Berkshire Cancer Centre and satellite dialysis units supporting care closer to home. The Trust also provides outpatient and diagnostic services throughout the region. Clinical research and innovation are important parts of its work, including developing and adopting new approaches in stroke care and other specialties.
