Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust provides acute and specialist care through five hospitals in central and west London: Charing Cross, Hammersmith, Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea, St Mary's and the Western Eye. Together they deliver more than 200 clinical services and treat over one million patients in a typical year.
The hospitals have complementary roles. St Mary's is a major acute and emergency site; Hammersmith is renowned for renal, haematology, cancer and heart attack care; Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea specialises in maternity, women's and neonatal services; and the Western Eye is dedicated to ophthalmology. Charing Cross provides broad acute and specialist care. Its academic partnership with Imperial College London closely connects patient treatment, education and medical research.
