East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is the county's integrated provider of acute hospital and community care, serving more than half a million residents and visitors. Its principal hospitals are Conquest Hospital in Hastings and Eastbourne District General Hospital, supported by community hospitals in Bexhill, Rye and Uckfield and more than 100 community sites.
Both acute hospitals provide emergency, medical, surgical, maternity, outpatient and diagnostic services. Conquest is the trust's centre for trauma and obstetrics, while Eastbourne specialises in stroke and urology. Community hospitals offer combinations of day surgery, rehabilitation, intermediate care and outpatients. Nursing and therapy teams also support people with long-term conditions in clinics, GP surgeries and their own homes, linking recovery and ongoing care with hospital services.
