About Dedalus Lorenzo
As a patient administration system, Dedalus Lorenzo manages the demographic and operational backbone of a patient's pathway. Local deployments can support registration, referrals, waiting lists, appointment scheduling, admissions, transfers, discharges and pathway-status tracking, supplying consistent identifiers and encounter information to connected clinical and departmental systems. Because Lorenzo combines PAS and electronic-record capabilities, administrative events can sit alongside clinical documentation rather than being maintained in an isolated application. Interfaces allow data to pass to laboratories, imaging, pharmacy, theatres and reporting services according to each trust's architecture. The precise functions differ across NHS deployments, many of which were implemented through the National Programme for IT, but the PAS role remains coordinating who the patient is, where care occurs and what stage has been reached.
