Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the UK's leading specialist heart and lung hospital, delivering around 130,000 episodes of care each year. Based in a purpose-built hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus since 2019, it provides complex cardiology, cardiac and thoracic surgery, respiratory medicine and critical care for patients from the East of England and across the country.

The hospital has a distinguished record of innovation in heart and lung transplantation and now performs more cardiothoracic transplants than any other UK centre. It also houses the UK's largest Respiratory Support and Sleep Centre, provides ECMO for severe respiratory failure, and offers nationally unique pulmonary endarterectomy and balloon pulmonary angioplasty services. Research is strengthened through partnerships with the University of Cambridge.
