Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a 400-bed acute hospital serving more than a quarter of a million people in Barnsley and the surrounding area of South Yorkshire. It provides a full range of district general hospital care from its main hospital site and other local healthcare locations.
Services include accident and emergency care, inpatient treatment, outpatient clinics, diagnostics, surgery, maternity and children's services. The trust also delivers specialist cancer and surgical care in partnership with Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, as well as assistive technology services across Yorkshire. As a foundation trust, its members and elected governors give local people a voice in shaping the hospital's priorities and future.
