The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK's five specialist orthopaedic centres. Based near Oswestry, it provides routine and highly complex musculoskeletal care for patients from England and Wales, alongside selected local hospital services for surrounding communities.
Its expertise includes spinal injuries and disorders, bone and soft-tissue tumours, children's orthopaedics, joint replacement, sports injuries, neuromuscular conditions, rheumatology and orthotics. The hospital has nine inpatient wards, 12 operating theatres and comprehensive outpatient and diagnostic facilities, including the Midland Centre for Spinal Injuries. Research and professional education are central to its role: the trust contributes to innovation in bone, joint and muscle care and trains a significant proportion of UK orthopaedic surgeons.
