University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust provides care from Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital in Stafford. Royal Stoke is a major teaching and specialist centre, while County Hospital provides emergency, planned, diagnostic and outpatient services for Stafford and surrounding communities.
The trust serves around three million people through local and regional services and is the major-trauma centre for the North Midlands and North Wales. Royal Stoke is also home to Staffordshire Children's Hospital and specialist services spanning cancer, neurosciences, cardiac care, renal medicine and complex surgery. Education and research are core parts of its role, supported by university partnerships and dedicated programmes that help nurses, doctors and allied-health professionals develop clinical academic careers and test improvements in treatment.
