Optum EMIS

The Optum EMIS label can cover different administrative products and should be checked against the installed system. EMIS Web manages patient registration, appointments, consultations and service workflows in primary and community care. In acute hospitals, the supplier's dedicated product is CaMIS PAS, which combines a patient master index with outpatient, inpatient and waiting-list information. CaMIS supports referrals, appointments, admissions, transfers, discharge, patient pathways and national reporting, and can integrate with departmental systems through an integration engine. Because the database records only “EMIS,” it is unsafe to assume which PAS is meant. Identity, waiting-list, RTT, e-referral and inpatient capabilities therefore require local verification.
