Optum Hospital Pharmacy is a modular medicines-management system designed around pharmacy operations and the flow from prescribing to dispensing. Its core dispensing and stock-control functions maintain medication, inventory and supply information, with decision support intended to reduce errors. Optional modules cover prescription tracking, ward-based clinical pharmacy, manufacturing and CIVAS, aseptic preparation, parenteral nutrition, homecare ordering, finance and robotics. Interfaces can exchange information with ePMA, patient administration and other clinical systems, supporting a more connected medicines process. Because deployments are modular, stock locations, formulary rules, automation devices, specialist production workflows, reporting and the degree of closed-loop integration depend on the components purchased and configured.
