Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the county's principal provider of acute hospital care, employing around 9,000 people and treating patients from Gloucestershire and beyond. Most services are delivered from Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General Hospital, with maternity care also provided at Stroud Maternity Hospital.
The Trust offers emergency and planned treatment across medicine, surgery, maternity, children's care, cancer, diagnostics and critical care. Gloucestershire Royal is a major centre for emergency and specialist services, while Cheltenham General has an important role in planned care and oncology. Formed in 2004, the Trust works with local health partners and supports clinical education, research and service improvement across its hospitals.
