Altera Sunrise

Sunrise provides electronic prescribing and medicines administration as an integrated part of Altera's electronic patient record. Clinicians can create and review medication orders within the same longitudinal record used for observations, results, allergies and other clinical information. The platform supports closed-loop workflows and barcode medication administration, including checks aligned with the five rights of administration and real-time warnings intended to reduce medication errors. Mobile and desktop access allows medicines tasks to follow care teams across settings, while auditability keeps prescribing and administration activity connected to the patient chart. Exact pharmacy interfaces, formularies, decision-support rules and specialty workflows are configured by each organisation to reflect its governance and clinical practice.
