Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital, community and selected social care services for more than one million people across Salford, Oldham, Rochdale and Bury. Formally established in 2021, it brought together Salford Royal and the relevant services of Pennine Acute Hospitals and now employs around 20,000 people.
Its four hospitals are Salford Royal, Royal Oldham, Rochdale Infirmary and Fairfield General in Bury. Together they provide emergency, medical, surgical, maternity, children's, diagnostic and planned care, while community teams support people at home and in neighbourhood settings. Salford Royal also hosts major regional specialties including neurosciences, renal and trauma care. The integrated structure enables expertise and clinical pathways to be shared while maintaining locally focused care organisations in each borough.
