Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the UK's leading specialist eye-care provider and one of the world's oldest and largest centres for ophthalmic treatment, research and education. Founded in 1805, it delivers services from its City Road hospital and a network of more than 20 locations across London and neighbouring areas.
City Road provides comprehensive outpatient, diagnostic and surgical eye care, specialist children's services and a 24-hour accident and emergency department dedicated to urgent eye problems. The wider network brings services such as cataract, glaucoma, retinal and general ophthalmology closer to patients. Moorfields' partnership with the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and its biomedical research centre links laboratory discovery, clinical trials and professional training directly with patient care.
