Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust is an internationally recognised specialist children's hospital in central London. Founded in 1852, it now provides more than 60 paediatric specialties and subspecialties, caring mainly for children with rare, complex or life-threatening conditions referred from across the UK and overseas.
The hospital is a major centre for paediatric heart care, brain surgery and gene therapy, bringing highly specialised clinical teams together on one site. Its partnership with University College London's Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health combines treatment with laboratory and clinical research. The Trust also hosts the country's only National Institute for Health and Care Research Biomedical Research Centre dedicated solely to children.
