Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust provides all NHS mental health services and many community physical health services across Dorset. Around 7,000 staff serve nearly 800,000 people from more than 300 locations, including community hospitals, mental health inpatient units, clinics, GP surgeries, village halls and patients' homes.

Its services include community nursing, health visiting, children's care, minor injuries units, rehabilitation, sexual health, learning disability and brain injury support, alongside adult and children's mental health, eating disorder, perinatal and forensic care. University Trust status supports research and education with Bournemouth University. The trust is federated with Dorset County Hospital, enabling closer planning between community, mental health and acute services while each organisation remains separately accountable.
