About Epic

Epic's maternity capability is centred on Stork, its obstetrics and labour-and-delivery application, linked to the wider Epic patient record. It supports documentation from antenatal care and ultrasound through labour, birth, postnatal care and the newborn's first hours, allowing maternity staff to work with relevant history, results, medication and orders in one environment. Configurable forms, flowsheets, care plans and decision support can reflect local maternity pathways, while scheduling and patient communication connect with Epic's administrative and MyChart functions. Information can follow mother and baby into other hospital services without rebuilding a separate record. The precise fetal-monitoring integrations, devices, community workflow and neonatal functionality depend on how each NHS trust has configured its implementation.
