Electronic orders enter laboratory work queues, where staff manage collection, accessioning, specimen tracking, testing, validation and result release. Interfaces connect analysers and automation, while verified results return to PowerChart and other authorised destinations in the patient's clinical context. Rules, worksheets, quality controls and audit trails support discipline-specific processing, and label and barcode workflows can reduce identification errors. PathNet is modular and highly configurable; supported laboratory disciplines, analyser estate, microbiology functions, blood transfusion, pathology workflow, reference-lab messaging and regulatory reporting depend on the installed applications, interfaces and local build.
