North Bristol NHS Trust provides hospital and community healthcare for Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset, with specialist services drawing patients from across the South West and beyond. Most acute care is centred at Southmead Hospital, supplemented by Cossham Hospital, the Bristol Centre for Enablement, diagnostic facilities and community locations.
Southmead offers emergency, medical, surgical, maternity and critical care alongside regional expertise in major trauma, neurosciences, renal medicine, orthopaedics, plastics and burns. The Trust is also a major surgical cancer centre and supports rehabilitation, prosthetics and assistive technology through specialist facilities. Its teaching and research links include the University of Bristol. North Bristol now works with University Hospitals Bristol and Weston through Bristol NHS Group to coordinate services and clinical strategy.
