SystmOne includes document management for scanning or importing correspondence, matching it to a patient and routing it through a configurable review workflow before filing. Optical character recognition can extract details such as dates, sender and recipient, while rules can help classify documents or suggest relevant clinical coding. Users can annotate or redact supported documents and direct work to the appropriate person or team. The electronic health record also stores letters and file attachments with metadata, and integration interfaces can upload or retrieve them. It is an embedded record-document capability rather than a separate enterprise content platform, with capture rules, indexing checks, retention, access and quality assurance configured locally.
