MEDITECH Expanse

MEDITECH Expanse includes imaging and document-management capabilities that make scanned, imported and electronically generated content available from the patient chart. Documents can be captured, indexed and associated with the correct patient and encounter, allowing authorised users to retrieve historical material without maintaining a separate paper workflow. When deployed with the wider Expanse platform, this content sits alongside orders, results and clinical documentation, supporting a more complete longitudinal view. Interfaces can also bring material from external systems into the record. It is important to distinguish this capability from a standalone enterprise records archive: scanning workflows, metadata, retention rules, search options and supported formats depend on the purchased modules and local configuration.
