Bespoke Patient Hub

Patient Hub is University Hospital Southampton's secure online portal for outpatient appointment communications. When an appointment is created, the patient receives a text message or email containing a link to the portal. After verifying their mobile number or email address and date of birth with a one-time code, they can view the appointment and its letter, confirm attendance, or request to rebook or cancel. This reduces reliance on printed correspondence and helps patients manage appointments without making a separate telephone call. Patient Hub is distinct from UHS's broader My Medical Record service: even patients who can already see an appointment in My Medical Record must open the Patient Hub message to prevent a paper letter being generated.
