Bespoke Minestrone

Minestrone is Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust's mature, in-house electronic health record. Maintained by the trust's development team, it brings clinical information and locally designed workflows together while integrating with surrounding hospital systems. Portsmouth has embedded a low-code forms engine into Minestrone so clinical teams can digitise structured assessments and other paper processes consistently; published deployment information reports more than 20 production forms and over 140,000 submissions each month. A linked BedView application provides a trust-wide view of current patient information to support flow, decisions and safety. Minestrone also acts as a downstream location for information such as pathology results, reflecting Portsmouth's strategy of connecting specialist systems rather than replacing everything with one monolithic product.
