Epic

Epic Radiant is a radiology information system integrated with Epic's clinical and administrative record. It manages imaging orders, scheduling, protocol and examination status, radiology worklists and results, connecting each study to the patient's wider care pathway. Standard interfaces send orders and status updates to PACS, imaging devices or specialist reporting tools and bring completed reports back into the chart. Integration with clinical decision support can guide appropriate requesting, while shared demographics and encounter data reduce duplicate entry between reception, radiographers and clinicians. Radiant coordinates the imaging workflow rather than serving as the primary image archive or diagnostic viewer; those functions commonly remain in a connected PACS. Local NHS builds determine modalities, worklists, reporting tools and regional image-sharing arrangements.
