Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust provides mental-health and learning-disability care for around two million people across County Durham and Darlington, Teesside, North Yorkshire, York and Selby. Almost 8,500 staff deliver services ranging from education and prevention to community treatment, crisis response, inpatient care and highly specialist support.
The trust works with adults, older people, children and young people, and people with learning disabilities. It also runs secure forensic services and provides mental healthcare in prisons across the North East, Cumbria and parts of Lancashire. Its extensive geography makes partnership with local health, council and community organisations especially important, while involvement from patients and carers helps shape individual treatment and broader service improvement.
