Bespoke Clinical Web Portal

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust's Clinical Web Portal acts as a web-based repository for electronic and scanned clinical records. Trust privacy material describes paper records being scanned into the portal after care episodes, where staff with a legitimate need can retrieve them. The record set can include emergency and urgent-care documentation, radiology reports and images, pathology results, observation records, prescription summaries, maternity information and other clinical documents. Users can also create controlled notes, including safeguarding entries, within the patient record. As a locally developed environment rather than a packaged document management product, its scanning, indexing, access and workflow arrangements are governed by the trust. It is being superseded progressively as CareFlow EPR functionality is deployed.
