Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is an integrated provider of acute hospital, community, mental-health, learning-disability and primary-care services. It runs Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, Yeovil Hospital, 13 community hospitals and services throughout the county, while its Symphony Healthcare Services subsidiary manages around a quarter of Somerset's GP practices.
The organisation was formed through mergers in 2020 and 2023, bringing physical and mental healthcare, community services and primary care into one trust. More than 12,500 colleagues care mainly for people in Somerset, as well as patients from neighbouring North Somerset, Dorset and Devon. Its broad remit supports prevention, coordinated treatment close to home and specialist hospital care, alongside education and research for future healthcare practice.
