Civica Prescribing is an electronic prescribing and medicines administration system for mental health, acute and community care. It replaces paper drug charts with structured workflows covering medicines reconciliation, prescribing, pharmacy verification, administration and discharge. Clinical decision support can warn about allergies, interactions, therapeutic duplication and other risks, while local formularies and configurable protocols guide consistent practice without removing clinical judgement. Authorised staff can view an up-to-date medication history, and browser and mobile access supports work across wards and community settings. The platform integrates with existing clinical systems so medicines activity can form part of the wider patient record. Security, auditability and clearer communication between medical, nursing and pharmacy teams are central to its design.
