PCMIS provides patient administration functions tailored to psychological therapy and mental health pathways rather than the broad bed, theatre and inpatient functions of a traditional acute PAS. It can receive professional or self-referrals, manage screening and triage, maintain waiting lists, schedule appointments and allocate cases to practitioners. Configurable communications may include confirmations and reminders, while online forms and questionnaires can collect information before or between contacts. Operational views help teams monitor caseloads, access targets, attendance and pathway status. Because administration and clinical outcome recording share one platform, information does not need to be repeatedly re-entered. Available booking, messaging, portal and integration features depend on local configuration.
