MEDITECH Expanse supports virtual care through video visits, patient-facing digital services and remote monitoring connected to the electronic health record. Patients can use portal or mobile functions for scheduling, forms and communication, while compatible home devices can submit observations for review. Clinicians can conduct virtual encounters within their normal chart workflow, document the consultation and consider remote readings alongside results, medications and history. Home-care capabilities can extend assessment and care planning beyond hospital settings. The platform provides building blocks rather than a single fixed virtual-ward pathway: supported devices, monitoring frequency, dashboards, thresholds, alerts and escalation arrangements depend on the interfaces, modules and clinical model configured by each organisation.
