Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24-hour emergency, urgent and non-emergency healthcare across nearly 6,000 square miles, from major cities and coastal communities to remote moors and dales. Formed in 2006, it serves more than five million people across Yorkshire and the Humber with over 7,200 staff supported by more than 1,300 volunteers.
The trust responds to 999 incidents, operates NHS 111 and provides patient transport for eligible people attending hospitals and treatment centres. In 2024–25 its teams responded to more than 908,000 incidents, completed over 978,000 patient transport journeys and supported around 1.69 million NHS 111 callers. This regional reach makes it a central link between patients and urgent, emergency and planned care.
