The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is Europe's largest single-site cancer centre, caring for more than 64,000 patients annually. Based in Manchester, it serves 3.2 million people across Greater Manchester and Cheshire, while more than a quarter of its patients are referred from elsewhere in the UK for specialist treatment.
The Christie is Europe's largest radiotherapy provider and operates the UK's largest chemotherapy department, with treatment also delivered at 14 other sites and in patients' homes. It is one of only two centres worldwide offering both MR-guided radiotherapy and high-energy proton-beam therapy, and provides specialist surgery for rare cancers. More than 750 active clinical studies, international comprehensive-cancer-centre accreditation and a dedicated cancer-education institute underpin its research and teaching role.
