The trust receives and triages 999 calls, dispatches ambulances and rapid-response resources, and provides treatment at the scene or transport to appropriate services. Specialist capabilities include hazardous-area response and planning for major incidents, supported by community first responders and partnerships with air ambulances, hospitals and other emergency services. EMAS also provides non-emergency patient transport in parts of the region and offers community training in CPR and defibrillator use.
